
Scholarship Program
The Oklahoma Texas Longhorn Association (OTLA) Scholarship Program is designed to give support for and encourage the development of career-building skills for students who are active in the Texas Longhorn industry and involved with OTLA activities.

The maximum value of any one scholarship may be adjusted based on the number of applicants for the year; however, all scholarships will be of equal value.

Eligibility Requirements
To be considered for the OTLA Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

Membership Requirement
The applicant must be an active member of the Oklahoma Texas Longhorn Association (OTLA) in good standing at the time of application. -
Participation Requirement
The applicant must have attended at least one OTLA-sanctioned show or event during the current membership year. -
Application Submission
The applicant must submit a completed OTLA Scholarship Application by the established deadline, May 8th. All requested information must be included.-
Educational Status: The applicant must be: A graduating high school senior or equivalent.

Essay Requirement (if applicable)
Applicants will be required to submit a short essay. The topic will be included in the application and could consist of describing their involvement with Texas Longhorn cattle, OTLA activities, and their future educational/career goals/business plans. -
Good Standing and Conduct
Applicants must demonstrate positive participation, showmanship/sportsmanship, and support of OTLA events and activities.​
Award Distribution
Scholarship funds will be awarded directly to the recipient and may be used for tuition, fees, or other career goals/business plans.
Money can be given to an applicant for the use of a business-related venture who has turned in their business plan as part of the normal application and essay.
The Scholarship winners will be announced at the Spring Show.
